John;21;20-23
Then Peter turning about,
Sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper,
And said Lord which is he that betrays you?
Peter seeing him says to Jesus,Lord,and what shall this man do?
Jesus says unto him,
If I will that he tarry until I come,
What is that to you? follow you me.
Then went this saying abroad among the brothers,
That, that disciple should not die;
Yet Jesus said not unto him,
He shall not die; But If I will that he tarry till I come what is that to you?
I see to key points here,
First; Peter asking as many of us do today about another;
This has happened to me, A person I knew was to do a certain thing; and she says to me well what about you?
I said he didn't tell me to do it, But the point is we are always looking at others if they are or if they are not; doing, and what God has called them to do;
Key point; what is that to you?
The second is the fact that it was misunderstood, and it went out that he said he would not die;
When in fact that is not what he said;
This has also happened to me;
Concerning John; he did not say that;
And also the one saying it to me, adds to Gods words, which he did not say;
We hear what we want to hear, and will believe it;
When we start to truly listen to what is said, and stop focusing on every one else, and what they get, or do not get, and do as he says, to follow him; Then we can get some where as the body.
